The Proving Ground Boot Camp Series is an opportunity for North Dakota entrepreneurs to help build confidence in the development of their new business and the leadership capacity to get their venture successfully into the marketplace. 

The boot camps will have five weeks of online content before the live event.

Cost to Attend

Boot camps are provided free of charge to Innovate ND participants, and are $199 each for those not-enrolled in Innovate ND. 

If you register to attend this boot camp and enroll in Innovate ND within one month following, your $199 registration fee will be applied to the $250 Innovate ND enrollment fee.

Innovate ND Proving Ground Boot Camp Series

Each week of the 5 in the pre-session work on Innovate ND will follow a different aspect of the entrepreneurial journey. Entrepreneurship is a process and in this online portion of your experience at the Innovate ND Proving Ground Boot Camp you will get an opportunity to get immersed in both what entrepreneurs think about and what they do to accomplish their entrepreneurial pursuits. The focus each week will center around some readings and a writing activity that will help you capture new insights into your business. These build on each other to help you begin the process of developing a well thought out Executive Summary that will be a centerpiece for you to build on during your time at the Live boot camp in Fargo on April 6-7. In addition, each week we will have two discussion threads started that will highlight businesses that two of you either want to or have started. These discussions provide valuable insights and perspectives, so please join in. The time commitment each week is yours to decide, but I find that it only takes a couple of hours to accomplish.

March 5, 2018 Week 1: Understanding Your Opportunity: What is the nature of the opportunity, how do we break it down, how we might evaluate it, and ways to build new insights into the marketing connection of the opportunity to the customer.

March 12, 2018 Week 2: Seeing Your Difference: How to differentiate yourself from the other choices customers have access to.

March 19, 2018 Week 3: Segmenting Your Customers and Projecting Revenue: Who are our actual buying customers and how much revenue will these buyers produce?

March 26, 2018 Week 4: Looking at Your Competition: How to recognize that you are not only competing against other entrants in your market but also the consumer behavior you are trying to change.

April 2, 2018 Week 5: Your Executive Summary: How to complete a compelling and effect 2-page Executive Summary that gets you noticed.

Special Live Webinar Monday April 2, 2018 at 7:00 pm cst.: As part of the online portion of InnovateND there will be a live webinar hosted by your Boot Camp facilitator Dr. Jeffrey Stamp who will review the work you’ve done in the online program and get you prepared for the 2-day Boot Camp experience. In addition, he will answer your business building questions and make sure you are on path to completing your 2-page Executive Summary.

InnovateND Proving Ground Boot Camp: Fargo April 6-7, 2018. The Proving Ground Boot Camp is a highly experiential deep dive into the critical five skills that entrepreneurs must learn to master. These relate to the ability to validate various components of their business so they can proceed in business development on their own. Here are the 5 skills that are needed to validate your new business:

1.) Concept (Problem) Validation

3.) Business Model Validation

4.) Operational Validation

5.) Value Validation

The live workshop will be where you hone your voice and message to be able to truly discuss, pitch, defend, and champion the business opportunity you see and are pursuing. Covering all the vital presentation tools an entrepreneur must develop - the 2-page Executive Summary, the 1minute pitch, and pitch deck, you will get to test your new voice in live pitch scenarios. At the end of your Proving Ground experience you will get to test your 1-minute pitch to real investors who will provide valuable feedback.

The Proving Ground Boot Camp is facilitated by Dr. Jeffrey Stamp, who is both a serial entrepreneur himself and an entrepreneurial mentor.
